The Power of Restraint
Message from Ascended Master Saint Germain
We are composite beings with a physical body, emotional body, mental body, a soul and a mighty I AM Presence within (our God Self).
Being a composite being means that we are often subject to conflicting emotions, thoughts and agendas within. Our physical self, for example, might be thirsty for a cool drink of water while the emotional self wishes to drown itself in beer.
So the conflict begins.
The mental self might be more for a mix of beer and water to minimize the damage while the soul and spirit are aligned with the body and ready for water.
We feel these conflicts within us every day and we wind up making choices. This is where we come across the Law of Free Will. Ultimately, a choice must be made and the Law of Free Will is simply a way of saying, "Honor the choices of Self and others."
Since we are composite beings, it makes sense to note that our choices are not always consistent from the viewpoint of others. Sometimes the emotional body is making the choice and sometimes the Spirit makes the choice in a similar situation. This looks like inconsistency. It is, in fact, very normal. This also brings up another Universal Law called the Law of Acceptance. In other words, we can't really judge another because of our choices. We Accept that we are divinely created beings and that we will make choices in accordance to the situation that our composite selves finds ourselves in.
Which bring us to the real topic of this conversation - Some decisions that we make are damaging to our selves. Some decisions that we make are damaging to others.
Have you had any decisions that you have regretted because that decision damaged Self or others?
Would you like a practical tool that can help you to tame the conflict within and bring more harmony between the different components of Self?
If so then I bring to you a practical tool called Restraint.
This tool, Restraint, is not popular because it often means stopping the impulses of the physical, emotional and mental bodies, the three components of Self most likely to lead you into decisions that you may regret.
However, Restraint allows for you time to make a decision that is for the Highest Good For All. What does this mean? Decisions made for the Highest Good for All are decisions that do not harm others.
If you wish to not harm others then use Restraint as a way to avoid spur of the moment decisions that could be spring from impulses of the physical, emotional or mental bodies. Not all, but many times, these impulses harm either yourself or others in some way.
If you wish to not harm others then use the tool of Restraint in the following way:
1) When making decisions don't make the decision on the spot. The exceptions, of course, are emergency decisions involving saving self and others from immediate danger.
2) find a quiet place and simply ask yourself mentally, "Is this decision that I feel that I want for the Highest Good For All." If you feel or here that Still Small Voice Within say, "No." or "Yes" then you have received tour answer.
3) Finally, have the courage and faith to stick with decisions that are for for the Highest Good of All. Sometimes, what is for the Highest Good of All requires you to decline participating in what looks like a fun time. This is where Restraint becomes a powerful tool that allows you to say "No." to others when you have heard "No." from your Inner Guidance which is the God within you or Holy Spirit.
Be aware that the universe wants you to enjoy life! For every opportunity that you say No to other opportunities will present themselves for review.
I AM Saint Germain and I wish you a full life!
Stay Focused on the Simple Things in Life.
Ascended Master Mahatma Gandhi.
I am happy to be back here to provide another practical message on how to stay in Happiness every day.
This goal of Happiness is important, you know. Happiness is a Divine Trait. Happiness is what makes the world go round. Thankfully, Happiness is more popular than you think. The vast majority of our dear brothers and sisters know how to maintain Happiness.
All we have to do is focus away on those things that we think will bring Happiness and focus on the things that really matter.
Things that matter include stopping for a friendly conversation with a stranger at the park. Happiness is exchanged if we let it. Happiness is feeding a stray cat. Happiness is making someone in your life smile. Happiness is watching your favorite movie or sport. Happiness is talking to your family, friends and loved ones about what makes them happy.
Happiness is helping another to practice the Art of Happiness.
Happiness like getting the big promotion at work can give one a fleeting sense of Happiness - until one learns that one now must work 20 more hours a week and worry about thousands of details. One realizes in this situation that the illusion of of more money and more fame and recognition is not a path to Happiness if it takes you away from the simple things in life like sharing a laugh and a cup of tea with an old friend.
My practical advice for you today is the following: When you have a big decision to make like career and location changes, ask yourself, "Will this take away from my Happiness?" If you feel a "No." then you are safe to proceed. If you feel a "Yes." then proceed at your own peril.
Be Happy. That's God's major desire for us all.
Bless All You Meet
There is a way that you can help every single person that crosses your path and it costs you nothing but creates an avalanche of good will: Simply bless everyone that you meet.
I will make this really easy for you: When you are out and about and you see another person simply say to yourself internally, "God Bless you, I Love you."
The more you say this the more that your life will transform around you as you are transformed from the inside out with this simple practice.
Let It Be, Let it Be
Ascended Master Zarathustra
It may be surprising for you to witness an ancient one like myself quoting the Beatles. My only comment to this is that wisdom can come from many places.
The subject of that song is very appropriate in this day and age. We are in what is called Ascension. This is the time where those who chose the path towards our Creator become more and more gentle, and innocent and allowing of what life will bring to them.
There are also those who will cling to a path of self service. This path brings with it a need to control, fear, and a resistance to what life brings them.
During these times, it becomes difficult for couples and families and friends as they each choose between these paths and each find themselves living with those who now seem like strangers as both paths become ever more divergent. Those on the path of Light will have no desire for activities that used to excite them, instead choosing pastimes more in alignment with their soul passion. Those on the path of self service will also find themselves uncomfortable around those of the Light. They will tend to become angry and accusatory, blaming the ones on the path of Light for their problems.
Both groups will become upset and many will wish for the olden times where each had much in common. Longing for the past, however, often omits truths that happened in the past. A closer inspection of the past, without John Lennon's rose glasses, will reveal that the past had many arguments and strife and depression, to name just a few points of drama.
The past is gone and now the present shows us that the world is splitting into two camps.
There is no use in resisting this or in becoming sad or in clinging to the past. This cycle repeats itself every so often and now it is back. It is a way for each individual to make a choice on how they want to proceed. There is no Judgement, however there are effects to choosing each path as mentioned earlier. One is of Joy and Happiness and one is of increasing misery.
The practical advice for today regarding your loved ones who have chosen a path different than yours: Let it Be. It is not for you to try to change their belief structure. Only they can choose to change.
The Power of Allowing
Message from ArchAngel Metatron
During our lives there are many times that we find ourselves in situations that we consider to be disastrous. Perhaps we have lost a job or find ourselves in a house that is under foreclosure. Many of us , in these situations, resist and try to fight what is obviously going to happen.
"Of course," many say, "I don't want to lose my house!" I reply to those who think in this manner of wanting to resist is to consider a higher reason for the situations that we are in. Many times, what is happening is necessary to clear out situations that are holding us back spiritually and in your own growth as a human. Some things in life the ego clamors for, hungers for and demands while the spirit knows that such a goal will lead to a break from the divine plan that we create before birthing here. There really is a higher reason for us being here on Earth and sticking with our Divine Plan will have a beatific effect upon us and many others.
The fact that we don't remember this does not make it not so. We also agreed that we would have a case of amnesia when we came here just to make this more of a challenge!
My practical advice for you today is if you find yourself in a situation that your ego finds to be catastrophic, consider accepting the situation and to ask the Creator to take you to a better place.
When you accept and then ask the Creator in this manner, you allow new and better situations to arrive into your life and you will find yourself in a place of allowance and flow.
Ascended Master Gautama Buddha
Many times we hear the saying "Follow your heart and you can't go wrong." It would be nice to agree with the statement but we humans have two hearts that send us information. Unfortunately, it can be hard to discern between the two.
We have what is called the lower heart which is where our bodily desires reside. Through this heart we express our addictions and desires that stem from fear. Following this heart impulse can lead one to misery and strife.
We also have what is call a higher heart which is where our Divine desires reside. When we follow these desires we find ourselves in a place of grace, joy and happiness.
Both heart impulses can feel right in the moment. Let us say that we really like another person and our heart is telling us to be with this person. We will often follow that impulse and wonder later why the relationship ended in such acrimony.
Do you wish to learn how to discern the difference between the higher heart desire and the lower heart desire? Keep reading and I will tell you the simplest way to discern which heart is talking to you at any one moment in time.
I will provide an example of how the lower heart can interfere with your life. Let us say that you have always had a passion for wanting to heal others. You have been attracted to the healing hearts throughout your life and you find yourself presently engaged as a physical therapist. You find this work rewarding and the healing that it brings to your patients brings joy into your heart.
At the same time you dream of starting your own company that manages groups of physical therapists. You reckon that having such a company will be able to multiply your healing effect to more and more people while at the same time provide you with the satisfaction of being a business owner. This excites you and enthuses you.
Being one that likes to listen from the heart. You feel for an answer as to whether or not this is the right path for you. You feel the excitement of the opportunity and you conclude that, yes, it is the right choice. What is happening here, however is that your lower heart is becoming excited about being a successful businessman. While there is nothing wrong with being a successful business man, the attachment or desire to become one can lead to misery and choices that lead to calamity. The lower heart was creating the feeling of excitement, the feeling of, "go for it!"
Allow me to use this example to illustrate how to really discern if this heart decision was one from the high heart or the low heart.
Follow these steps.
Step one, get into a relaxed state by sitting in a quiet room with dim lighting. sit in a comfortable chair or lay down on a bed. Close your eyes. Breath in deeply and hold the breath for a few seconds then let the breath flow out and relax. Repeat this 5 times.
Step two: Ask the following to your Higher Consciousness, "Higher Consciousness, is starting this business venture for the highest good of all?"
Step three: Feel the response from the heart. If the response is muted or not there at all then you know your answer is, "No." If the response feels like Joy and Happiness then you know that the answer is, Yes."
Follow this simple three step strategy and you will be less likely to be led astray by lower heart desires.
You, of course, have a choice in life.
If you wish you may disregard this advice.
In either path , I wish you well on your journey!
Patience is a Powerful Mastery
In this very busy world where instant results can happen with modern technology, it's very easy to become impatient when you have to wait for something. In fact, we can become angry and hateful to others if we are delayed at a line in the bank or waiting in line at a public restroom. In the instant gratification world, we become more and more rude with delays from others and less and less tolerant.
Have you found yourself becoming angry at another because they are not operating at your frenetic, hyper caffeinated pace? Do you find yourself judging others who are taking their time to make a decision?
I come from a world where time was marked by the passing of seasons and the planting and harvesting of crops. the pace was slow and our conversations were often long with pauses.
If I were transported to your time, I think that most would dismiss me as too slow! There is a certain mastery required to be patient. Patience allows all whom you meet the space and time to communicate in their own way. Allowing others this courtesy and honor to respond to you in their own time and way is an act of compassion and Love. It is a Divine quality that pays off with rich interactions and lasting friendships.
Would you like to learn how to master Patience?
Allow me to provide a few practical tips.
The first tip is to stop multi-tasking while having a conversation. When talking to another, give them the honor of your full attention instead of carrying on two or three conversations at the same time with texting. This type of multi-tasking breeds impatience which breeds intolerance.
The second tip is to decrease caffeine intake. Caffeine may make you feel like a master of the universe but you pay the price with an inability to be patient while under it's effects. Caffeine triggers releases of adrenaline in the system which increases the fight or flight response. This is the opposite of patience. Try cutting back to a smaller portion instead of the largest.
The third tip is to let go of all expectations. We carry so many expectations around with us regarding what we can accomplish within a certain time period. When we can't perform this we become desperate and lash out at others for their perceived slowness. Give up the expectations that certain things can be performed in certain times. Lose the expectation and free yourself to becoming more patient.
The fourth tip is to forgive others who are not living up to your time expectations. It is no fault of thier own that they can't meet your expectations.
The final tip is to forgive yourself for being impatient.
Patience is an acquired skill that becomes more and more a part of your life as you practice the tips provide here.
Eventually you will notice and be noticed by others as patient and kind. For this is what patience gives you - a kindness that will attract to you the kindness from others that will lead to new connections and new opportunities.
Enjoy your new found patience like a hot cup of coffee - decaffeinated.
Message from Ascended Master Mary Magdalene
Many times we come to make a decision that we know is absolutely right. Minutes or hours later, the doubt starts to creep in. We are flooded with all these thoughts about what happens if this decision is a wrong one. Our minds create dozens, sometimes hundreds of problems out of thin air in support of changing our decision to something safer, something that fits in with what others will say is sensible.
This is how our egos kill our dreams. The ego is a construct created by us. It is a machine that is made up of rules that we have been creating since we were young. These rules are usually created after a painful physical or emotional event. A classic rule created by many of us appears as follows: As a child, you decide to try soemthing new like climb a tree. So up you go and you get higher and higher - untill you stab yourself on a broken tree branch and you feel pain and you cry. After you get down you make two new rules that you carry with you fo the rest of your life: "I'm never going to try that again!" and "I'm never going to try new things ever again because I'll get hurt."
You then carry these rules with you throughout your life. At the age of twenty your friends invite you to go hang gliding with them. At first you enthusiastically say, "Yes!" Later however, your ego starts to remind you about a few rules that you agreed to - namely, the one about not rying new things. The ego then goes on to imagine three or four worst case scenarious incvolving broken bones and death during hang gliding. You call your friend who is organizing the trip to count you out.
Incidents like these continue to happen over the years. We miss one opportunity after another to live life to the fullest, all because of these rules we create during our childhood. We become trapped in an invisible cage of our own making.
I say that it is time to break out of the invisible cages that we find ourselves trapped in and live life the way our Creator wanted us to live life - spontaniously and with a sense of adventure, curiosity and excitement.
But what is the way to free ourselves from these prisons?
The answer to that is found with our Creator. We can ask our Creator to help us by surrendering these childhood rules, one at a time, as they pop up in our day to day lives. Creator will take these childhood rules and fears and cast them away forever.
Would you like to read how this is done?
Here is my practical advice for you today. Let us say, for example, you meet an attractive person and would like to get to know him / her better. You make eye contact and the other person responds with a smile. This is reason enough, would you not think, to start a conversation? But your ego intervenes with a rule created during adolescence when you aprocached someone at school in a similar situation and the other person rudely told you to go away. Your child rule created then was to avoid, at all costs, such a situation again. As a reult you avoid this person that just smiled at you and you walk away.
You now decide to surrender this fear and rule to the Creator so that you can be free of such behavior and be able to start a conversation with confidence the next time this occurs to you.
This is what you can say as a silent prayer to the Creator, "Dear Creator, I surrender this fear and child rule of avoiding conversations with newly met people. Pelase take it away from me forever. Thank you, Creator. I love you."
Use this Surrendering Prayer as away to defeat your ego and allow you to trust your initial impulse to start that conversation or to go hang gliding or to say yes to life.
That initial impulse, by the way, is your soul wishing to experince life to its fullest.
I wish you a full life with no regrets.
Make Today a Great Day
Message from Archangel Chamuel
There is much to be grateful for, no matter where you are. Even those in disaster torn areas can be thankful for being alive and for helping others in such dire conditions.
Even if you think you can't help because of physical limitations, there is much more to helping others than that. Wany times, a smile and a heartfelt thanks to another is the kind of help that is worth more than all the physical and monetary help in the world.
If you want to make today a great day, consider helping another on their journey. The Key to helping others is to ask if they wish help or guidance. If they say, "No." then find another to help!
there are plenty in this world that appreciate your help and need it.
You can also ask the Creator to bring those to you that need help.
Helping others comes in many guises, a lending hand, an opportunity to listen, advice or a simple cup of coffee and graceful hospitality. Whatever your help is, let it come from the heart. Those who need simple support will appreciate all that you do.
At the end of the day, you will feel lighter and more in a place of peace, contentment and joy.
Gratitude, Thanks and Appreciation
Message from ArchAngel Ariel
I am an energetic being. As such, I can see and feel your energy signature. When you are mad your signature runs a dark red. When you are bored your signature barely registers.
When you are grateful - oh my - your signature burns brilliantly like a sun. Why so powerful this feeling of gratefulness? It is the energy of our Creator. The Creator energy burns brightest when you are in a state of unconditional Love, gratefulness, appreciation and thankfulness.
Our Creator is grateful of you and shines its light upon you waiting patiently for you to feel it and to recognize it.
When you feel grateful you will notice that all the cares of the world melt away and is replaced by a feeling a well being. Spend a few moments feeling grateful every couple of hours or so and you will feel great throughout the day.
Gratefulness, thankfulness and appreciation propels your consciousness to higher levels, towards the Creator. The most happiest people on Earth, you will notice, are grateful and thankful and appreciative and express this easily to others.
Are you ready to become more happy?
I will provide practical advice.
In the morning when you wake, spend 7 minutes thinking of 7 conditions, people, places, animals, or things that you are grateful, thankful, and appreciative of. Spend a full minute for each and really let the thankfulness express itself throughout your body like the feeling of slipping into a hot bath.
Give yourself extra time in the morning for this as rushing through it will lessen or nullify the effects.
If you wake up and don't feel like doing this on a particular day - then don't. It's meant to be a pleasurable experience as opposed to a chore. Come back to it another day when you awaken in the appropriate mood.
As you go about your day, give yourself a gratefulness, thankfulness and appreciation recharge by taking a quiet moment to yourself and feel those feelings for one person, place, thing, animal or condition. Again, if you don't feel like doing it then wait for a spot in your day that feels right.
I AM grateful, thankful, and appreciative for the opportunity to communicate with you.
Listen to What Your Body Is Telling You
Message from Ascended Master Mary Magdalene
Before you were born in between lives you carefully planned, with the help and feedback from advisors and soul family, a Life Path and a Divine Purpose. You wanted to experience certain experiences and to embody a particular type of work here for service to all.
When you were born, however, the intense sense experience of life on Earth caused you to forget all of these plans. Unseen guides and helpers remind now you of your Soul Destiny by placing certain situations and people in your path in hopes of sparking the recognition of Joy that you have found your Divine Purpose. They will also place in your path certain persons and situations that are the opposite of your Divine Purpose so that you can clearly identify and decide that, "No, this is not what I want." Either way you are being helped to remember why you came here.
Many times, during childhood, you can be placed in situations that create a certain programming or fear that will carry into your adulthood. These programs and fears can be an obstacle to you fully realizing your Life Path. when this occurs, the opportunities and synchronicities that are presented to you by your guides and helpers are ignored because you are trapped by your programming and fears. When this occurs, no amount of persons and situations can dislodge you from the trap that these programs and fears have ensnared you.
When this occurs, your Soul Self decides a different method to try to reach you. It will frequently try to talk to you through the body. Here are a few examples.
A woman has a particular problem with lying to others because she is afraid to tell the truth in fear that the others will reject her. Because of this fear she frequently tells others what she thinks they want to hear. Her soul guides and helpers work hard to place her in situations where she is given opportunities to experience others doing the same thing so that she may recognize that this type of behavior is keeping others and her from realizing their True Self.
Unfortunately, the synchronicities designed to bring this to light do not get the woman out of her trap. She still lies to others to placate them. In the process she tortures herself because she is not being her True Self.
Her soul decides that it is now time to talk to the woman's ego through the body. The women receives strep throat and makes it very painful to talk. The message clear: what comes out of your vocal chords is diseased.
A second example is a man that also has a fear of being alone. Because of this fear, he has a tendency to want to control friends and loved ones to avoid being alone. He is constantly scheming about ways to maintain a presence in his friends' and loved ones' lives. With the failure of the man to respond to many synchronicities pointing out this fear, the man's soul now decides to talk to the man's ego through the body. The man starts to notice that his ability to grip and hold onto object has become much weaker. He frequently grips things like cups or plates and will drop them because of the weak grip. The message from the body to the ego in this example is to let go of these people that he is trying to hold onto.
"This isn't quite fair," you might say, "How am I to decipher these messages and how do i get rid of these programs and fears?"
Allow me to offer practical advice.
Search on the internet for Soul Speak. You will find more information. As for removing the programming and fear, ask the Creator to remove this for you. Surrender it to the Creator and it shall be removed.
Listen carefully to you body and it will tell you what you need to act upon.
Free Yourself from the Prison of Judgement
Message from ArchAngel Michael
In the Heavenly Realms we monitor and listen to the thoughts and feelings of all around Earth and we find that there is a connection between health and happiness and the amount of judgement that one partakes in.
Judgement is the act of deciding that a situation, person, place, animal, or object is good or bad or somewhere in between.
Judgement, you may say, is necessary. "How can I survive if I don't judge?", you may protest.
Let us examine the act of survival in a state of judgement verses non-judgement. Let us have a situation where you are walking down the street in an unfamiliar part of town - a part of town known as being a "bad place to be caught in." You have heard this part of town as being "bad" and you have accepted this judgement as your own.
As you walk the street in this bad section of town, you feel tense. Fear is starting to develop. You are hoping that you don't meet anyone on this walk that you find yourself in. The expression on your face is grim. You are not smiling.
Suddenly, a group of three laughing young men appear. They are obviously from this neighborhood that you are walking in. They are speaking loud and using language that you have judged as being rude and inappropriate. The look on your face now expressess anger and fear. You have judged them. As they approach you they see the look on your face and sense hostility. They quiet down and look at you with wary eyes. One of them is triggered into anger because he's seen this face too many time before - the look of judgement. They pass you with looks ranging from wariness to hostility. Sudden fear and panic surges through you! Your ego tells you, "It's true! This place is bad! It's dangerous! Look how that one man stared at you with open hostility!" You quicken your pace and walk through the neighborhood in a state of fear and hate. You feel tense and a headache envelopes you for the rest of the day. You are now in a state of misery
Later in the day you come home and tell your friends your story to further reinforce the judgement that this part of town that you found yourself in is "bad."
Let us say that some time later you revisit this place that you have judged as bad. However, now you have liberated yourself from judgement. You no longer prejudge a neighborhood or a person, place or thing.
You walk in a state of neutrality, free from fear. Your ego can no longer place you in a state of panic. You feel yourself in a state of peace. A relaxed smile is on your face as you walk through the neighborhood. You see the place with open eyes and you drink in the atmosphere with all your senses. The sun is shining and the warmth feels good on your skin. You appreciate these simple things. Two children are playing and they see you and wave. You wave back with a smile. You are enjoying your walk. Three young men round the corner. They are laughing and joking. They see you and they also see your smile and sense your peace. They respond with eye contact and smile as they walk past.
You have freed yourself from the self-imposed limitations that Judgement traps you in.
Would you like to know how to become that liberated being that holds no judgement?
Allow me to provide some practical advice.
Understand, first, that you and that the person, place or thing that you are judging is a part of you. Who are you? You are Source. You are made from Source, by Source and for Source.
You and everything that you see is Source. There is only Source here. The next person that you interact with is also made from Source, by Source and for Source.
Understand, second, that you are are here for a purpose. That purpose is to experience and learn from your experiences. Every other person, place or thing is also here to experience and to learn from those experiences. When another person is doing something that you personally would not do, that person has decided to experience that situation so that s/he can learn from it.
Who are you to judge what experience another has chosen?
Understand, third, that you are entitled to protect yourself from harm - just do so without judging.
When you see a tiger in the zoo and it is pacing back and forth and looks very hungry, you don't climb into the cage with it - do you? At the same time you don't judge the tiger as good or bad. It simply is what it is - a very large carnivore. Use this same perspective when you are going about your day. The most dangerous part of the day for most is driving. When a reckless driver cuts you off while speeding, know that this is what it is and nothing more. Simply slow down and put space between you and the reckless driver. There is no need to judge this other aspect of Source.
Understand, fourth, that judging others is an indicator that you have, within you, something that you don't like about yourself. Frequently judging is a projection from you onto others what you hate about yourself. For example, you may hate that fact that you are clumsy and constantly spilling things. When you see others doing the same thing you react in anger and judge them as careless or sloppy. This type of reaction is known as a trigger and is misqualified energy of hate that you are holding within. Ask Source to take this energy out of you so that it never comes back and it shall be done. Also ask Source where this energy first came from so that you can have an understanding of why this energy became trapped within you. If you discover that this energy became trapped within you because of a childhood incident whereupon one of your parents of family members called you clumsy or stupid, then please find it in your heart to forgive them - they also have this energy trapped within.
Understand, finally, that judging is a trap that creates hate and more hate. You are a loving person and a part of Source. Do you wish to create hate?
This is your decision - embrace Love or embrace hate through judgement.
Anchor Into Your Body
Message from Saint Germain
When you are at rest without any sort of impending deadline or emergency and you still feel jittery and nervous and worried you either have been drinking too much coffee or you are having a problem anchoring into your body.
This not anchoring in your body is a result of being in your head instead of your whole body. When you are in your head you may notice that you do things without realizing that you have done. How many times have you driven home from work while in your head and didn't notice that you drove all the way home as you rambled on in your head regarding whatever miseries were being replayed over and over?
Being in your head all the time has one guaranteed outcome: nervousness and anxiety. The reason is simple - the head or physical mind is a machine that constantly worries about the future or worries about past actions. It is a Doom Machine. It is always making mountains out of molehills.
It is the primary reason for most diseases of the body. Your mind will start to worry and then you worry yourself into sickness. Being in your head is allowing the Doom Machine to take over your life with it's constant worries and fretting. It will worry you into more doom and gloom until you feel miserable and sad.
Would you like to know a simple way to shut down this machine and slip into a life of ease and Grace? The answer is to Anchor your consciousness into your body instead of your head.
I will provide you with practical advice: Anchoring your body requires that you focus your attention away from thoughts and toward the sensations that are occurring in and around your body.
If you are sitting down try this simple exercise to anchor:
First, breath in slowly and feel the expansion of your chest. Focus in on the heart space when you do this. Now hold your breath for as long as you can while you focus on the noise in the room about you. Do this for a few seconds. Next focus your attention on both the noise in the room about you and the pressure you feel on you backside as you sit. Feel the weight of your body. Keep doing this until you let go of your breath.
Second, breath in and out now slowly and deeply. You don't have to force the breath just slow down your breathing and pause slightly on the inhale and on the exhale. Do this continuously while focusing on the noise in the room and the feeling of air as it expands and contracts the chest. Focus on the feeling in the heart area as you inhale deeply while still focusing on the sounds around you. Continue this for as long as you can. I would practice this all day long while walking and talking and listening and working.
I want you to notice what happens to the Doom Machine inside your head- it has stopped spewing it doom and gloom. It is much more quieter!
Now, the physical mind does not like being quiet. It likes to be the boss. It will try to convince you that this anchoring in the body is not needed.
If it convinces you that this is not needed then you have a decision to make: Choose doom and gloom or choose peace and Grace. It is your decision to make.
A special note regarding stimulants such as coffee. A good percentage of the population is sensitive to the effects of coffee whereupon the physical mind under the influence of stimulants will overpower the ability to anchor into the body. If you find yourself unable to anchor into your body, examine the amounts of stimulants that you are ingesting and adjust accordingly.
